OK, so it’s time I put something in here.
If you asked me five years ago whether I’d ever be living in South Florida, I would’ve laughed at you. It’s not that I didn’t want to leave Oklahoma. It just seemed that my love affair with the mountains would make somewhere like Denver, Salt Lake City or wherever my next residence.
About the middle of last year, I decided it was time for a change. Time to spread my wings a little. And I found the great folks down here at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. I get to work with some tremendous people, (hopefully) learn a lot and become a better journalist.
It also helped I had a great woman in my life who was willing to not only marry me (I paid her), but also move with me. She occasionally blogs here, too.
So we live in Pompano Beach, suburb generally to the north and northwest of Ft. Lauderdale. South Florida is a place full of characters — a coworker on my softball team calls them “Broward County Crazies” — and experiences unlike anywhere else in the country.
Hopefully I can give you a few and make you laugh in the process.
