So I went to Best Buy last night and replaced my camera.

But I upgraded a little.

Bekins replaced my Sony DSC-S650. But I figured why not throw in a few extra bucks and get something a little nicer. The replacement cost for the Sony is $139.

Best Buy doesn’t sell that model any more. So there’s a comparable model with a little bigger number — something like the DSC-S700 or something.

I almost bought the $179 version of the Sony digital camera — can’t remember the model number — because it has the Carl Zeiss lens. But then I saw the Nikon Coolpix S200, which seemed to have a much better video feature.

I wanted a little video for the honeymoon and stuff like that — no, not video for THAT you perverts.

The other negative to the Sony is they use a proprietary memory card, which is a little more expensive, I think. I like being able to buy the off-brand memory cards (I got 4 gb for $37).

This one also comes with a lithium ion battery, which is rechargeable. I like the idea of being able to just plug in my battery on the cruise ship and not be a slave to the $500 batteries. OK, I exaggerate a little.

Anyhoo, I’ve taken a few pics of my place:

Here is the view out my balcony.

Here is the view of my building. I’m on the third floor.

Sand volleyball court outside my building.

The area around the pool.

This is a pretty sweet cabana by the pool. Anyone can use it.

The heated pool where I swim every morning. A lot of apartment pools are too small or too round to really swim effectively. But this one has those two portions that stick out at each end, giving me a good 25 yards or so each way.

The hot tub area.

More to come…
