So I took some new art.
Or, an attempt at art, rather.
Took a little road trip up to the town of Palm Beach. I hadn’t been up there and thought this little exercise in taking pictures would be a good excuse.
Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow.
The wealth up there is astounding.
So enough of my crap. Here’s some pictures:
No. 6 — Buttons….Here’s a little collection of buttons from people who’ve run for governor in Oklahoma.
No. 301 — church…This is Bethesda-by-the-sea Church in Palm Beach, where Donald Trump was married.
No. 242 — museum…This is the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. It’s the old home of Henry Flagler, a founding partner of Standard Oil Co. (John Rockefeller, anyone?). More importantly for Florida, I suppose, was his purchase of what would become the Florida East Coast Railway. West Palm Beach was supposed to be the terminus of his railroad until a freeze hit Florida, and he found out a town called “Miami” was unaffected. He built an extension to this “Miami” and they offered to call it “Flagler.” But he declined the offer. Oh yeah, and he founded Palm Beach.
A better history is here.
No. 251 — Expensive…
I went to Worth Avenue, which is a place where the rich shop. The really rich, I should say, judging by the number of Ferrari autos I saw.
No. 113 — Iconic…
The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach. Built by Flagler.
